Christmas with Jane Haiku Mini-Challenge

Hide

As part of our participation in Christmas with Jane hosted by the Book Review Club DJABC is having a mini-challenge. Sarah and I have each picked three of our favorite books from this year and have written a Haiku about it. You’re challenge, should you choose to accept, is to match the Haiku with the title of the book.

The book titles:

  1. January: Mr. Darcy, Vampyre by Amanda Grange
  2. March: A Vindication of the Rights of Women by Mary Wollstonecraft
  3. May: Jane Slayre by Sherri Browning Erwin
  4. August: Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
  5. September: Mansfield Park and Mummies by Vera Nazarian
  6. November: The Mistress’s Black Veil by M. K. Baxley
Now match the book to the Haiku it inspired. (Bonus points if you can guess which three belong to Sarah and which belong to me.)

 A)    Condemned to darkness                            B)     Love doesn’t end

Struggling against passion                                   Despite years shut up

Committed for life                                                  Behind yards of linen bandages.

C)    Sinful survival                                                 D)     Mother-writer taught

Surrendered innocence                                        Daughter, men&women aren’t born

         Unified redemption                                                monsters, but made.

E)     Compounding sorrows                               F)     Sharpen silver knives

Emerging humanity                                               Crazy lives in the attic

          Darkness consumed                                              Playing with fire.

Give your answers in the comments in number-letter format (ex: 7G). We’ll be posting the answers on Monday, December 10th. Good luck!
